Faux Pumpkin Painted Purple and Blue

The last thing I painted was a fake pumpkin. I'm making a diorama. Here is a clip that shows a bit of the demo I'm making for youtube. If you are interested drop me a comment and I'll embed the two part video here when I'm done.

Two New Paintings

I painted until the sun came boiling down on my back. And I said to myself, 'Self, I'm tired of quitting right when I get in the flow of things because it's too hot out here." So I got the spare canopy out of the garage with it's 36 poles and white canopy, and in the blazing heat I put that sucker up. But it was worth it. The temperature dropped about 15 degrees once I was in the shade, and then I finished not one painting but two.

12"x12" acrylics on canvas board.

I'm trying to decide if I should list them on rtist.com or etsy.com.

Ready to Paint

I got some 12"x12" canvas board today. I want to paint some onions and a red bell pepper I have in the kitchen. But by the time I got home I was in no mood to paint. So I made a mobile instead out of found objects. But I am hoping tomorrow goes better and I can paint.

If I could only find my Turpenoid, I could do oil painting finally. But if not, I'll do acrylic paint.

Painting on Wooden Frames

Yesterday I started painting some wooden frames. It takes longer than you might think because of the sides and inner frame edges. I'm using acrylics, which dry fairly quickly. If I was using oil paints it would take a lot longer. I primed the frames with Gesso first. It provides a smoother surface to paint on and saves time and paint in the long run. I have 2 out of 4 frames done now. Time to go paint some more.

Succulents in Twilight and Ovoids

Ovoids part one

Ovoids

Succulents in Twilight

This morning I woke up in a painting mood so I grabbed my paints, canvases and brushes. The background is gesso tinted with acrylic paints, and the paintings are done in acrylic as well. The one with ovoids took a lot longer than the other one for some reason. It was fun to be painting again. The canvas size is 24"x24". Unfortunately it got dark and I had to stop for the night.
