Gourd Skully
Today I got to paint a skull on a gourd, and I got to paint a memorial ribbon. The gourd isn't quite finished. I want to glue an eyepatch over one eye of the skully. It's a cool bit of folk art. The gourd is rouched up where the eye should be. That is the part of the gourd that was laying on the ground. It gives the skully a nice folksy weathered look. I always thought it was both cool and creepy that the color of a gourd skin looks like human skin.

Fruit Painting
I ran across a photo of a painting of mine, and then I wondered why I never finished it. All I can think is it must be stored in the garage somewhere. Pity, I rather like it and would love to hang it in the dining room. I'll probably find it when I move again. As I recall all I had left to paint were the candles.

First Post
I can't believe after making over 30 blogs I didn't have one just on painting. So now I do. So there. It's all Dave the Painting Guy's fault for making me aware that I didn't have one. He's a portrait artist that broadcasts on ustream.tv.
